Makhana — fox nuts, harvested from the Euryale ferox plant in still water — has been part of Indian kitchens for longer than most branded snacks have existed. It's traditionally eaten during religious fasting, roasted plain or with a little ghee and salt.
We started RUDAYA with makhana because it already had everything we wanted the brand to stand for: a real ingredient, a real tradition, and a texture that genuinely competes with anything in a European snack aisle.
Everything else in the range follows the same test — is this something we'd actually serve at our own table, whether or not anyone was watching.
